A PORTABLE LED FRESNEL

Each year LED lighting is becoming more affordable and powerful. The Boltzen has now earned it's placed on all of my shoots and has replaced my TorchLED Bolt as a backlight for interviews. 

WHAT I LOVE

  • This packs a punch. I often have to dim it to it’s lowest setting for interviews.
  • It can be powered by NP-F750/960 batteries or an included power adapter.
  • Daylight balanced but includes a tungsten filter.
  • Add a Bowens adapter (you can pick one up pretty cheap) for different attachments such as diffusion.

CONS

  • The build quality - It's not flimsy, but I don't see it last through extreme abuse.
  • Not all batteries work with it.
  • The case is too small if you want to leave the lights stand on.

All in all, very solid choice for a portable LED.
