Lens Spot Removal in Premier Pro
We’ve noticed that Lens dust is magnified when using a wide angle lens, due to the combination of a wide focal length and aperture, dust appears to take up more of the image. When shooting in dusty rural locations we keep a lens pen ready but we always seem to miss something. Luckily we’ve found an easy trick that you don’t even have to leave Adobe's Premier Pro for.
The effect is called "Dust and Scratches"
Before
All you need to do is apply the effect to your footage, then outline each of the spots you'd like to remove with additional masks on that same effect.
Outline spots with pen tool
Tweak the "Radius" setting. I’ve found 5-20 to work for most applications. You’ll want to leave the effect off while making your selections so you can see what you're outlining. It also prevents the computer from trying to process and apply the effect to the whole frame.
GONE!
If the spots are consistent across several shots all you have to do is copy and paste. That effect.
